Solar installed. Bitcoin miner too expensive?

Explore mining with your PC: Monero on its CPU or Pearl, Ravencoin, Ethereum Classic and Quantus on a suitable graphics card. Measure power and revenue before investing in a separate miner.

No additional ASIC needed. Account for electricity, wear and mining fees.

Begin with the standalone PC-Agent. Add solar automation through your node later.

Start at a 1 % dev fee – the PC-Agent runs standalone. Only when your node steers solar automation does it become 2.5 %.

How it works

From your solar system to your own setup.

You choose the configuration. SolarMiner connects data, control and monitoring.

Developer fee & operating costs

Dev fee in two tiers: 1 % with the PC-Agent alone, 2.5 % once your SolarMiner Node steers solar automation. The Node recognizes itself and switches automatically — transparently readable in the PC-Agent. The Bitcoin calculator assumes the full 2.5 % rate; check your actual configuration in the software.

Hardware, hosting, electricity and possible pool or miner software fees are separate. The revenue comparison is not a complete profitability calculation.

What does SolarMiner do?

SolarMiner combines energy monitoring with control of compatible mining devices. It runs on your own host and uses configured measurements and rules to adapt mining to your available energy surplus.

Do I need a miner to get started?

You can try your existing PC: Monero on its CPU or Pearl on a suitable GPU using the PC-Agent. Bitcoin mining uses a separate ASIC hardware path. Automatic solar control additionally needs a configured node and suitable energy measurements.

How high is the SolarMiner fee really?

Two tiers, switched automatically: while you only use the PC-Agent without a SolarMiner Node, the dev fee is 1 %. As soon as a Node steers or reads your PV automation, the software switches to 2.5 % immediately — because that is when it delivers the automation performance. You can see the current split live in the PC-Agent; a referral code can shift it further or even lower it.

Is mining better than feeding in?

That depends on hardware efficiency, feed-in tariff, network difficulty, Bitcoin price and fees. The calculator compares revenue per kWh. Investment, maintenance and other costs also belong in your decision.

Which data is shared?

The node runs on your own host. Depending on configuration, external services are used for prices, pools and integrations. Public benchmarks and network statistics use voluntarily shared data. Website analytics is separate and requires your permission.

How do I install SolarMiner?

Start with the hardware requirements and official setup guide. Install on your own host, including via Docker. You need basic technical knowledge and access to your devices.

Take the first step with your own numbers.
